Visit of Embassy of India Officials to Seto Macchindranath, Kumari Chhen and Kumari Niwas Project Sites

On 19th January 2021, protocol visits to Seto Macchindranath and Kumari Chhen was organized for Ms Nishi Arora, the new Second Secretary, (D &P) Embassy of India. CLPIU officials also participated in the site visit and discussions. The community representatives welcomed the delegates to the site.

At Seto Macchindranath temple, INTACH team highlighted its historic and architectural significance and explained the key issues affecting the historic buildings and the salient features of proposed conservation interventions.

In the premises of Ratnakar Mahavihar, the EOI representatives were taken to Kumari Chhen, or the House of Kumari with its historic paintings. The proposed conservation measures proposed for the paintings was explained along with the challenges of conservation of the building. The EOI officials were also taken to the site of New Kumari Niwas and the proposed design and use of the new Kumari house was explained.
