Stakeholder meeting with Nepal Bhasha Parishad Officials

The INTACH Kathmandu team including Ms Paromita De Sarkar, Ms Anita Tamrakar, and Mr Dharmendra Misra, Art Conservator from the MH Division of INTACH visited Nepal Bhasha for a consultation meeting with the office bearers of Nepal Bhasha Parishad (NBP).
During the meeting, the INTACH team made a presentation on the DPR proposals. Mr Dharmendra Misra spoke at length about the need for documentation, emergency salvage of the museum objects currently stored in the Nepal Bhasha building, including the need for their conservation and a professional approach to museum curation for the Nepal Bhasha Parishad. In view of the proposed up gradation of the existing museum, INTACH team informed that capacity building of NBP staff is essential for the long-term sustainability of the museum, revenue generation and preventive conservation of the museum objects. The NBP officials gave a positive feedback on INTACH’S proposal for the reconstruction of the existing building and up gradation of its existing museum.
