Ground-breaking Ceremony at Hiranya Varna Mahavihar
The start of restoration work at Hiranyavarna Mahavihar and Digi Chhen, Lalitpur was initiated by the local community with the ritual of “Chhema Puja”. The puja was attended by officials from Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Central Level Project Implementation Unit, Govt of Nepal & INTACH Kathmandu. Hiranyavarna Mahavihar popularly also known as the Golden temple is situated in the monument zone of Patan Darbar square a UNESCO World Heritage site in Lalitpur which is one of the most important Buddhist temple monasteries of Patan.

The Indian National Trust for the Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) organizes a training and capacity building workshop on ‘Documentation and Conservation of Gilded Metal Repousse’ in collaboration with Embassy of India in Kathmandu and CLPIU (Building and Housing), Government of Nepal.

Visit of Principal Director, INTACH AH to Kathmandu
Mr Divay Gupta, Principle Director (AH Division) was in Kathmandu, Nepal from 27th February 2021- 3rd February 2021. During his visit he attended the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of Seto Macchindranath temple together with the INTACH Kathmandu staff. The INTACH team helped assist with the arrangements for the ground-breaking ceremony in coordination with the Embassy of India in Nepal.
The Principal Director &INTACH Nepal team met the Project Director, Deputy Project Director and Engineers of CLPIU and also visited several project sites including Hiranya VarnaMahavir, Gopi and Napichandra Mahavihar, Adalat Bhawan and Jesthavarna Mahavihar for meetings with community representatives.
